Types of braces

Damon® Q Brackets

In an effort to provide our patients with the very latest in orthodontics, we are proud to offer new Damon® Q braces: the all-new, all-metal, self-ligating braces system that has gone above and beyond to increase patient comfort and reduce overall treatment time while straightening teeth.

Damon Q represents the latest advances to the revolutionary Damon self-ligating braces system, featuring brackets which are made entirely of high-grade stainless steel, making them strong and extremely durable. The brackets also have smoother, more rounded corners to help provide greater comfort for the patient and to appear even less noticeable than normal Damon braces! Damon Q braces also feature removable positioning gauges to help ensure your orthodontist places the brackets in the perfect position to give you a great-looking smile!

An underbite is characterized by the lower jaw extending too far out, causing the lower front teeth to sit in front of the upper front teeth.

Ceramic Braces

Clear Braces feature brackets made of ceramic which blend in with your teeth, making them harder to notice, and more cosmetically appealing. They’re suitable in many situations, but they cost a little more. The clear brackets are placed on the upper, front 6 teeth, the posterior and lower brackets are metal.

Invisalign®

The Invisalign System combines advanced 3-D computer graphics technology with 100-year-old science of orthodontics. Invisalign aligners are designed to move your teeth in small steps to the desired final position prescribed by your orthodontist. Each aligner is precisely calibrated and manufactured to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan. Your first step is to visit our office to determine if Invisalign is right for you. After sending precise treatment instructions, Invisalign uses advanced computer technology to translate these instructions in a sequence of finely calibrated aligners – as few as 12 or as many as 48. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks and only taken out to eat, brush and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next, your teeth will begin to move gradually – week-by-week until the final alignment prescribed is attained.

Invisalign® Teen

Now teens don’t have to worry about embarrassing metal braces in their yearbook photos or Facebook profiles – introducing Invisalign® Teen! Invisalign Teen is the clear way to straighten teeth without metal braces, using aligners. Aligners are removable and virtually invisible, which means you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing; and you can still eat and drink what you want. Also, you can brush and floss normally to maintain healthy gums and teeth; and there are no wires, metal or brackets to cause mouth abrasions.

Herbst Appliance

One of the most common problems orthodontists treat is the discrepancy that occurs when the upper teeth protrude beyond the lower. Ordinarily, when we see a patient with the upper teeth protruding, we tend to think that the upper jaw and teeth are too far forward; but, more often than not, this condition is due to a small lower jaw that is further back than it should be. With these patients, we would like to encourage the lower jaw to catch up in growth, and braces like the Herbst appliance help this happen.
